You are invited to submit nominations for the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award, which is given annually to a faculty member from Cummings School.  This is the highest teaching award given by the school and it is presented at Commencement in May.

We ask for all nominations to be submitted by Friday, February 24, 2023, at 5:00 PM.

Recipients of the award from the past five years will come together as the Teaching Award Selection Committee to review the nominations and make a recommendation to Dean Cribb. Dr. Carie Cardamone from the Center for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (CELT) advises the committee.  A two-step process is used to select the award recipient and details are provided in the attached document.

 2023 Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award

 Purpose: To improve veterinary medical education by recognizing outstanding instructors who, through their teaching, dedication, and leadership, contribute significantly to the advancement of the profession.

 Criteria for Nomination:

  • Nominees must be faculty members actively engaged in teaching at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
  • Nominees must have demonstrated a sustained record of excellence in teaching.
  • Previous recipients of the award become eligible for consideration three years after previously receiving the award [Note: We set this at 5 years for Cummings School].
