This year’s French American Innovation Day will feature a scientific conference hosted by Tufts University in collaboration the French Embassy in the United States, University Bordeaux and Ventum Biotech. The conference promises an enriching program aimed at stimulating academic and industry collaboration, and will explore emerging infectious diseases and response, the need for globally enhanced BSL3/4 research infrastructure, emerging antibiotic resistance, novel technology platforms for diagnosis and prevention, and is designed to stimulate Franco-American academic and industry partnerships. Participating Cummings School faculty include: Jonathan Runstadler (co-host), Hellen Amuguni, B.V.M., Ph.D., Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education Cheryl London, D.V.M., Ph.D., DACVIM (Oncology), and Charles Shoemaker, Ph.D. This is an opportunity to hear from leaders in their field discuss the threat of emerging infectious diseases and the need to develop robust community-centered approaches to prevent and respond to the potential threat they pose to public health.
