Aubrey Spect, V'23, completed two summer research projects, one studying cross-reactive antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 in BCG-vaccinated Diversity Outbred mice (mentor Dr. Gillian Beamer) and the second studying antimicrobilal resistance and infectious diseases in Boston rats (mentor Dr. Marieke Rosenbaum). Aubrey will share her experiences pivoting from her planned IVM project due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and her explorations of the roles of veterinarians in understanding and responding to emerging infectious diseases.
