This dual-degree program provides an opportunity for a limited number of highly qualified students to pursue the doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) degree and the doctor of philosophy (PhD) degree simultaneously over approximately seven years. Through the dual-degree program, students receive rigorous training in a basic science research discipline, as well as full academic and clinical training as a veterinarian. The PhD portion of the program is available at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University, Tufts Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, and the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
