Tufts is hosting flu and COVID-19 vaccine clinics, provided by Shaw’s/Star Market, on each Massachusetts campus in September and October. Additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics will be offered in November.

Why Getting Vaccinated Matters

Even if you are healthy, you can become very sick from the flu or COVID-19 and experience serious complications.

• Older people, young children, pregnant women, and people with medical conditions like asthma, diabetes, heart disease, or kidney disease are particularly vulnerable.
• Vaccines are the most powerful protection available to prevent serious illness with the flu and COVID-19.
• Being vaccinated is safer than “taking your chances” with the flu and COVID-19. It’s also your best shot at protecting others who are more vulnerable.

Tufts Requirements and Recommendations

• Tufts requires the flu vaccine for Health Sciences students on the Boston and Grafton campuses, as well as for all faculty, staff, residents, fellows, volunteers, and contracted employees working at TUSDM’s main campus in Boston or at any one of its special needs satellite clinics for at least one day during the period October 1^st of a given year through March 31^st of the following year.
• Tufts strongly recommends that all Tufts community members, including faculty, staff, students, vendors, affiliates, and visitors get their flu shot, including those who work remotely.
• Tufts also strongly recommends all community members remain up-to-date with COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters. Following CDC vaccination guidance is the best defense against illness and will help keep everyone on our campuses healthy.

Tufts requires influenza vaccination proof or formal declination from all faculty, staff, residents, fellows, volunteers, and contracted employees working at TUSDM’s main campus in Boston or at any one of its special needs satellite clinics for at least one day during the period October 1^st of a given year to March 31^st of the following year.
