Featuring: Fernando Javier Vilchez Delgado, Ph.D. Student at Cummings

"I graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. My research focuses on infectious diseases in wildlife, particularly in virology and the epidemiology of zoonotic diseases among neotropical primates. I have conducted extensive fieldwork across biological stations in Peru and led projects within protected natural areas. Additionally, I completed internships and trainings at the University of São Paulo in Brazil and Cornell University in the US. Currently, I am an associate researcher at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute of Tropical Medicine in Peru, and I am a Ph.D. student in Infectious Disease and Global Health at Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine."
