Nominations now open for 2024 Cummings School Alumni and Faculty Hall of Fame Awards

Cummings School is seeking nominations for two important awards from and to members of our community: the Outstanding Alumni Award and the Faculty Hall of Fame. These awards recognize those who have made significant contributions to the veterinary medical profession and our institution, and serve as an important reminder of the values and relationships that connect us.

The Outstanding Alumni Award celebrates alumni who have demonstrated extraordinary success in the profession, community involvement, advancement of Cummings School and its mission, or volunteering of their time and talent.

The Faculty Hall of Fame recognizes faculty members for their commitment to excellence in teaching in an effort to commend, encourage, and maintain exceptional teaching at the veterinary school.

We need your nominations for the 2024 awards. Which faculty members and Cummings School classmates are shaping our field today? Who would you like to recognize for raising the profile of veterinary medicine and making it stronger?

Previous recipients include individuals like Jennifer Lofgren, V07, VG07 (alumni award), honored for her many accomplishments in animal welfare research; Gregory Wolfus, V98, associate clinical professor and director of the Tufts at Tech Community Veterinary Clinic (faculty award), celebrated as a cherished mentor, teacher, and community leader; Emily McCobb, V00, clinical associate professor of anesthesiology and director of the Shelter Medicine Program (faculty award), recognized for her visionary work in the field of shelter medicine; and Mark Pokras, V84, D.V.M., associate professor emeritus, member of Cummings School’s second graduating class (faculty and alumni awards), honored for decades of teaching, clinical care, and research at Tufts Wildlife Clinic.

The nominating process is simple and only takes a few minutes. The deadline for nominations is August 16, 2024. Visit this page to view a list of Cummings School faculty. Winners will be selected by alumni vote in August and will be presented at Alumni Comeback at Open House on October 5, 2024.

Thank you for supporting an important Cummings School tradition, and celebrating the colleagues and mentors who make this institution, and our field, even better.
