Dear Members of the Tufts Community:

The installation of Sunil Kumar as the 14th President of Tufts University will take place on Friday, October 6, at 2 p.m., on the Medford/Somerville campus. This will be an opportunity for all of us to celebrate our new president, recognize the university's achievements, and look to even greater accomplishments ahead. I hope you will join us for this exciting event.

In addition to the installation ceremony, Inauguration Week events will be held from September 30 to October 7 on all campuses, as well as online:

• Oct 1: Performing Arts Showcase (Medford/Somerville)
• Oct 3: A Conversation with President Kumar (Virtual)
• Oct 3: Centering Indigenous Voices in the Arts (Medford/Somerville)
• Oct 4: University Chaplaincy Celebration (Medford/Somerville)
• Oct 4: One Health: Tufts Making an Impact
• Oct 6: Archives Inauguration Exhibit (Medford/Somerville)
• Community Receptions throughout the week:
  • Sept 30: Grafton
  • Oct 2: Boston SMFA
  • Oct 4: Boston Health Sciences
  • Oct 6: Medford/Somerville

We are especially excited to conclude Inauguration Week with "Tufts Day of Service" on Saturday, October 7, to make a hands-on difference. Join us in Medford to participate in a community cleanup event, or serve your local community in a way that is most meaningful to you.

These events will celebrate the academic excellence, artistic creativity, and commitment to the greater good that are the hallmarks of the Tufts community. I know this will be a memorable and festive occasion for the entire community, and I hope you will join us for one or more of these events.
