The bond between the homeless and their pets is very strong due to the social isolation and dysfunction that exists on the streets. Providing care to pets of the homeless and near-homeless is one of the biggest challenges facing veterinary medicine. In this talk, Dr. Geller discusses the work of The Street Dog Coalition and other non-profits involved in this work, and also presents opportunities for student involvement.
